About Me
I have always loved love and, for many years, dreamed of becoming a celebrant. But for a long time, that dream came with a deep conflict. While I believed wholeheartedly in marriage and everything it represents, I myself was not legally allowed to marry my female partner. It was hard to imagine working in a field that didn’t fully accept me, or recognise my fundamental right to marry the person I love.
Thankfully, everything changed in Australia on 9 December 2017.
Once marriage equality became law, I knew the time was right. I returned to study to gain the qualifications needed to become an authorised marriage celebrant. At the same time, my partner and I began planning our own wedding. A year later, we did things our own way — we literally ran away and eloped. No guests, no expectations — just us, our celebrant, and our photographer.
We eloped to a stunning location in Tasmania and announced our marriage later via social media. It was intimate, meaningful, and completely “us”. It was a perfect day, and we wouldn’t change a single thing.
Laughter is one of my favourite things in the world, so if you’d like warmth and a little humour woven into your ceremony, I can absolutely do that. If you’re after something more formal or traditional, I’m equally happy to accommodate. Your wedding day should reflect you — your relationship, your values, and what feels right for both of you.
As a celebrant, I specialise in small, meaningful ceremonies. I have a particular love for elopements and same-sex marriages. If you’re planning a large, traditional wedding, I may not be the right fit — but I’m always happy to have a chat and help point you toward options that may suit you better.
